良い物は高い / Fancy products are expensive

   益子で焼物を販売していたときのこと

 

 

何回も聞いた言葉が

 

 

良いと思ったものは、高いわねえ、手が出ないわ　という一言

 

 

それでも、心に残っていたのだろう

 

 

半年も後になって、この棚にあった花瓶はまだありますか？

 

 

と、来店される。

 

 

人によっては、1年経っていらっしゃった方もおります。

 

 

買わなかったことに後悔して、

 

 

毎夜　欲しかった器が頭の上でぐるぐる回っていたらしいです

 

 

高い買い物は勇気がいります。

 

 

でも、良い物っていうのは面白いもので、

 

 

すぐお嫁に行ってしまうものです。

 

 

直感で、良いと思ったものは

 

 

買っておくべきなんだなと、

 

 

その経験から学びました。

 

 

 

When I sold potteries at my gallery,

 

 

I heard one phrase many times,

 

 

‘Fancy products are expensive. I cannot afford this.'

 

 

However, interestingly some customers came back in 6 months or 1 year later and they asked

 

 

‘Do you still have a stock? I remember there was a vase on this spot.....'

 

 

Unfortunately, most customers could not get that product because we do not make a lot.

 

 

They always said that they could not sleep well because they could not help thinking about the product.

 

 

Therefore, I learned that I should buy if I really want, even If it costs a lot.
