益子のバブル時/ During good economic times in Mashiko

      Japan had a booming period around 1980's.

 

 

I heard from one potter about a very interesting story when the Mashiko pottery festival in 1980's.

 

 

Customers came in flocks in the shop.

 

 

The potteries were sold out soon.

 

 

Therefore, customers even ran into the kiln of craft center,

 

 

and they grabbed the hot and brand sparkling new potteries.

 

 

It also happened to our shop!!

 

 

 

 

   Unfortunately, nowadays it is a very bad economy in Mashiko.

 

 

   I Hope many many customers visit Mashiko like 1980's!!

 

 

 

 

日本がバブル全盛期の80年代、益子も同様にバブルで陶器が飛ぶように売れたようです。

 

 

これは　ある益子の陶工の方から聞いた話なのですが、

 

 

「陶器市のときにどんどんお客様が来て、ぽんぽん陶器を買ってくんだよ。

 

 

もう品物が店になくなっちゃったら、

 

 

今度は家の工房の窯の前まで来て、

 

 

窯から出てきたアツアツの出来立てを買ってってよ。

 

 

あの頃は本当に良かったなあ。」

 

 

とのこと。

 

 

 

 

家の窯でも同様なことがあったようで、

 

 

今とても不景気な益子ですが、

 

 

お客様がバブルの頃のように　来るといいなあと切に思います。
